Stress and unhealthy lifestyle habits have become significant concerns, impacting individuals' personal and professional lives, as well as their families. In Europe, approximately one in six people—84 million individuals—are affected by mental health problems. This prevalence has substantial economic implications, with direct and indirect costs accounting for roughly 4% of the EU's GDP.
Work-related stress is a critical factor contributing to these issues. A recent study across 35 European countries found that job strain is directly responsible for 16% of depression cases, while job insecurity and workplace bullying each account for 9%
The repercussions of stress and poor lifestyle choices extend beyond the individual, affecting families through increased absenteeism, reduced quality time, and financial strain due to medical expenses
